1 ) Check given signal
Since the tension testing machine system is a closed-loop system, to find out which part of the system is faulty, it is necessary to disconnect the loop in the system and make the system an open-loop system. To judge whether the given signal is normal, the feedback signal of the motor must be disconnected to make the system an open loop. First open the top cover of the bottom of the tensile tester and remove the feedback wiring. Then start the tensile testing machine and use the workstation to send a given signal to measure whether the input signal to the power amplifier is stable. If the given signal is abnormal, it will also cause the above phenomenon. With the increase of the displacement speed of the crossbeam, the input signal also increases. When the crossbeam movement speed reaches 35mm/min , the tension testing machine appears to be self-locking and the crossbeam stops moving. During the entire movement of the beam, the given signal to the power amplifier is measured by the workstation to be stable. It is determined that the given signal from the workstation is normal.

) Check the DC motor
After removing the fault caused by the given signal, check that the DC motor is rotating normally. Since the tension testing machine system is a closed-loop system, the input signal and feedback signal of the motor must be disconnected first, ie, the input and feedback wiring are removed, and +115 V DC is added to the motor. The DC motor rotates smoothly and it is determined that the DC motor is operating normally. Then judge whether the feedback of the DC motor is normal, because the feedback part of the DC motor is a brush, if it is worn or damaged, this fault will be caused. Remove the motor, remove the brush and find that the brush is intact. It can be determined that the DC motor is normal.

) Check high and low speed conversion units
After eliminating the above factors, check whether the high and low speed clutches are normal. The tension tester has a high-speed, low-speed clutch. When the crosshead moves at a high speed, the high-speed clutch acts. At low speed, the low-speed clutch operates. Tensile testing machine at low speed, the beam can move normally, but not at high speed. This shows that there may be problems with high and low speed clutches.

) Check the power amplifier
Finally check the power amplifier is normal. At each power-on, the tensile tester system performs a self-test. After the self-test is completed, press the button on the control panel to move the control beam. The green light of the normal state on the power amplifier is on, and the beam can move at low speed. However, after the beam is selected to move at high speed, the red light in the over-current state on the power amplifier is on, and the beam is locked and cannot be moved. Since it has been determined that the input signal is normal when checking a given signal. Then check the output of the power amplifier. The output signal should be a DC signal that increases with the beam moving speed. However, after the measurement, it was found that not only the DC signal but also the AC signal of about 90V was mixed, which indicates that the power amplifier was damaged. After replacing a new power amplifier, the tensile tester resumes normal use.
