South Korea successfully tested durable plastic pipe

South Korea's Samsung General Chemicals Co., Ltd. developed a new type of pipe for high-pressure water and air pipes in January 2004 and is considered to be one of the most durable and economical plastics and materials in the world. This new polyethylene material is classified as PE112 according to the International Standard Classification and can be used for more than 50 years. It costs 60% less than steel and is 30% cheaper than existing plastic pipes. The company has registered 11 patents for this material.
At present, the world tube market has a capacity of 50 billion U.S. dollars per year. South Korea's Samsung General Chemicals Co., Ltd. has an annual production capacity of approximately 180,000 tons of pipe materials.
