Genevac's new miVac SpeedTrap â„¢ frost-free cold trap not only provides unmatched volatile solvent recovery, but also freeze-drys up to 250 ml of solution samples.
The new generation SpeedTrap â„¢ cold trap can be applied to a wider range of solvents, from volatile organic solvents to water, and even high boiling point solvents, including 1,4-dioxane, tert-butanol, cyclohexane. Although SpeedTrap â„¢ is designed in conjunction with Genevac's miVac series concentrators, it can also be applied to other manufacturers' concentrators if the range of concentrated solvent samples is compatible.
SpeedTrap â„¢ cold trap can be used with a high vacuum pump as an independent small freeze dryer. It can also be used in conjunction with a concentrator to become a combined system that integrates concentration and freeze-drying.
The function and design of the new SpeedTrap â„¢ cold trap are completely different. It is very small, does not require a lot of space, and has a width of only 212 mm (8.3 inches). The condensing coil is directly suspended in the steam circuit, so the solution vapor is directly condensed in the coil and then flows to the collecting container below. This method has many advantages, including high efficiency and more than twice the capacity of a similar cold trap; users can quickly see the solvent in the cold trap; it is convenient to empty the cold trap; no defrost is required. An automatic defrost mode ensures that users do not need to spend time on any defrosting operations on the system, even when using water. The collection container can be simply and easily removed to ensure the safe handling of the solvent.
