What is the tensile test for plastic track and field venues?

Tensile test is a destructive test. It is to dig a piece of sample not less than 20cm x 20cm from the site and cut by a mechanical die.

The test piece can also be placed on a 50cmx50cm mold in the field. The thickness meets the design requirements. The sample is made into a dumbbell-shaped bar, as shown in Figure 1.2.28 as “A” shape, and the “B” bar can also be used. After the test specimens were made, they should be stored at a constant temperature of 23 degrees Celsius for 24 hours. Then the tensile failure test was performed on a tensile machine. The tensile machine continued to stretch at every 100 mm/min until the strip specimens broke. At the same time require records and stress / tension curve.

If the surface of the synthetic material is composed of a single-component dehydrated silicone rubber, it should have a drying time of at least 14 days before stretching. If it does not meet the requirements, repeat the test on similar specimens after another 14 days.

The test results should meet the requirements of the International Federation of Athletics Associations (IAAs): the minimum tensile force of a non-porous synthetic material is 0.5 MPa, a porous synthetic surface, and the minimum tensile force at break is 0.4 MPa.
