Analysis of heavy metal pollution in vegetables in Xi'an

The content of mercury, arsenic, lead, chromium and cadmium in 80 samples of 10 vegetables in the vegetable wholesale market and vegetable production base in the suburbs of Xi'an was determined by atomic fluorescence spectrometry and atomic absorption spectrophotometry The results of the annual survey were compared, and the results showed that the content of mercury, arsenic, chromium, and cadmium was significantly lower than that of 1996-1997, while lead is still the main polluting element. 85% of the lead content in vegetables exceeds the national health standards. The highest exceeds the standard 8.03 times.
