Biofoam

The University of Campinas, Brazil recently developed a new environmentally friendly material that can replace the current foam to eliminate the scourge of white pollution.

This material is called "biofoam" and it is mainly made from natural, recyclable materials. 70% of the ingredients are extracted from corn, soybean and ramie, while oil extracts only account for 30%.

The university's chemistry researchers said that biofoam can be used in lightweight packaging materials, and it is a good substitute for foam because it can be rapidly biodegraded in nature. Biofoam is different from foam that will not degrade for hundreds of years. It can be dissolved in nature in less than two months, and its production cost is low. No toxic substances are produced.
