Shanghai Mayor Yang Xiong met with Nick Varney, CEO of Merlin Entertainment Group, at the Hengshan Hotel on the 28th. At present, the Group has entered into a site with Qinghua District in Qingpu with the Chinese Cultural Holding Group and the Qingpu District Government to invest in building Legoland in Shanghai. 
Merlin Entertainment Group is the world's second-largest live entertainment development and operation company next to Disney. It owns famous brands such as Legoland, Madame Tussauds, London Eye, and Sea World. At present, there are six Legoland theme parks in the world. They were the first Lego Park built in Denmark in 1968, the second opened in Windsor in the United Kingdom in 1996, the third in California, and the fourth in Germany in 2002. Lego Park, fifth in the US in 2011, 2012 Legoland theme park in Johor, Malaysia. The six LEGOLAND amusement parks are distributed in different countries and each has its own regional characteristics. According to Merlin Group CEO Nick Vaughan, the future is to build Legoland Shanghai into a theme park with Chinese elements.
