Understand: Offset Printing Process on Laser Hot Stamping Pattern

In the increasingly fierce market competition, everyone is striving to create their own brand, and to make their products come to the fore. The exquisite bronzing process stamping laser aluminum products are rich in color, colorful, and then combined with a rich layer of offset printing technology, not only make the product with a magnificent visual impact, smooth, neat and transparent, strong visual impact, but also The product's anti-counterfeiting performance is greatly enhanced, and unexpected security effects are unknowingly played. It is even more unique and popular at numerous product counters.

To print exquisite products using offset printing on bronzing products, in addition to requiring reasonable process design and operation specifications, we should also pay attention to the following issues.

1 Quality of anodized aluminum

Because printing is performed on anodized aluminum, the quality of aluminum as an offset printing substrate plays a crucial role in printing. The phenomenon of “flying gold”, “reverse pulling”, and “bubble” that occur when galvanized aluminum is gilded will seriously affect the quality of offset printing. The main factors affecting the quality of offset printing are the adhesive layer and peeling layer of anodized aluminum.

1) The effect of the peeling layer (protective layer) of anodized aluminum on offset quality

Aluminized stripping layers, also known as protective layers, adhesive layers or thermal layers. It consists of natural or fully formed paraffin wax, which is very small, only 0.01 μm, but it is very effective. Especially when printing on this layer, it must have the following characteristics:

1 good adhesion

At room temperature, paraffin wax makes PET or PVC film carrier adhere to the film base layer, making it not easy to fall off, so as to avoid the occurrence of serious phenomena such as "flying gold" and anodized aluminum "falling powder" during bronzing.

When the "gold fly" and "fly off powder" during the bronzing process are severe, the offset powder will be absorbed and accumulated on the surface of the blanket of the offset printing press during the offset printing process, affecting the transfer of the offset ink and the correct transmission of the dots. , which reduces the clarity of the print pattern, severe cleaning blanket must be washed every few hundred. Cleaning the blanket so frequently will not only seriously affect the production efficiency, but also directly affect the product's hue stability.

2 good ink adsorption

During bronzing, paraffin wax rapidly undergoes a series of physical changes (solidification-liquefaction-solidification) after it is rapidly separated from the substrate, and finally solidifies on the surface of the bronzing pattern to form a protective layer. When printing, the ink comes into direct contact with this layer. If the cured wax is poor in ink absorption, it is easy to cause the ink to fall off and the hue changes. Therefore, we have to make requirements for the aluminum-manufacturers to this layer in general, requiring that the surface tension factor must be above 38 to meet the printing requirements.

2) Effect of Electro-aluminum Adhesive Layer on Offset Quality

In the gilding, the adhesive layer of anodized aluminum should be well bonded with the paper and must maintain a certain strength. Otherwise, the gold foil will be “pulled out” by the blanket during the offset printing process, resulting in “burning paste”. , "The ink does not transfer", "Hue change" and other quality issues. Therefore, the most important thing for hot stamping is to make the adhesive bond with the hot stamping substrate better, that is, the adhesion of the electrical aluminum and the paper is greater than the adsorption force of the offset ink to the electrochemical aluminum. Therefore, the selection of anodized aluminum materials suitable for offset printing is the most effective way to solve "backlash."

2 hot stamping pressure

The bronzing pressure is an important condition for the transfer of gold foil to paper. Since the product requires a pad pressure treatment during bronzing, the surface of the bronzing pattern after the pad pressure treatment inevitably has a slight uneven shape and thickness unevenness. If the printing pressure is not uniform, the printing ink on the plate surface will inevitably appear. Inconsistent shades, distorted dots and hairlines, and severe print failures.

In general, the pressure of bronzing should not be too great, but it should not be too small. If the pressure of bronzing is too high, the method of offset printing is to perform partial pressure on the back of the blanket, the impression cylinder, and the lining, but this method not only takes more time, but also can cause damage to offset printing equipment. The gilding pressure is too small, it will cause the adhesive strength of the aluminum and the paper is not enough to cause the galvanized aluminum "reverse" and "off powder."

Since offset printing pad is relatively complicated and difficult to operate, it is better to solve it from bronzing:

Improve surface smoothness of hot stamping

Minimize local pressure of hot stamping

Avoid steep slopes when hot stamping

Match the pressure of bronzing with offset pressure

Special attention should be paid to the fact that, when performing the partial pressure, the hot stamping causes uneven pressure on the same plate, which may cause “false printing” during offset printing. At this time, pressure treatment must be performed. In the pressure treatment, there will be "a few hue on one page" phenomenon. Therefore, try not to use a partial pressure compensation method on one pattern when hot stamping.

In order to test whether or not anodized aluminum has “reverse-pull” and “off-powder”, the general practice is to use ordinary transparent adhesive tape to inspect. If it is easy to be unplugged, it is easy to appear “anti-pulling” phenomenon on offset printing.

3 Register

Because it is printed on a specific hot stamping pattern, offset printing registration is for each hot stamping pattern, and any point of hot stamping fluctuations will directly affect the offset printing registration. If you also need to process the offset process on offset printing, then offset printing will affect the next process. Therefore, from the process design of the product to the production of the sample, we must first make a detailed provision for the registration of each process. For example, during the production process, the gauges are sorted, the products with moving rules are marked, and the speed is not allowed during the production process.

The gilding will result in fluctuations in registration due to the following reasons.

Paper stretching and deformation;

Change in bronzing pressure;

Hot stamping displacement;

Hot stamping speed changes;

Hot stamping machine itself registration fluctuations;

Poor paper feeding.

In general, to stabilize the offset printing pressure and adjust the offset printing, the following methods can be used to control the registration.

Considering the process of making print bleeding to meet slight register fluctuations;

Hot stamping is based on the offset printing product school edition, uses the offset printing product to check the gilding position is accurate;

Stable foil stamping, using foil stamping products after offset printing to re-plate in accordance with foil stamping, this is a commonly used method. If the bronzing registration is not stable, the fluctuation will be quite large, which will increase the cost.

The use of film to control the bronzing registration, with a gilt pattern edge outlines a film with a sideline of 50, using this film to check the registration fluctuation of the bronzing machine during bronzing.

In the actual production process, “reverse pull” and “off powder” are problems that we often encounter. The general remedy is:

Re-pressing the product;

Reduce the viscosity of the ink;

Reduce printing pressure and speed;

Use of (hard) blankets;

Use a special blanket;

In use (hard) lining;

Draw a groove on the blanket.

In recent years, our company has successfully integrated bronzing with offset printing to create brands for our customers while also improving our own market competitiveness (a wide range of products are currently used in this technology), and it has also driven Related process technology development.

Printing on bronzing patterns is a relatively new and emerging process technology. It is mainly through complex process technology to express the uniqueness of the product and play a good anti-counterfeiting effect. However, if the process is not properly designed and there are disconnections between the processes, if the cooperation is not good, there will be problems such as register fluctuations, reverse printing, and pressure inhomogeneity, which will seriously affect product quality and thus affect the market image of the product.

Glass Bowl

A glass bowl is a type of bowl made from glass material. It is usually round or oval in shape and has a smooth and transparent surface. Glass bowls are commonly used for serving food, such as salads, fruits, or desserts. They can also be used as decorative items or for holding small items like keys or jewelry. Glass bowls are popular because they are easy to clean, durable, and can showcase the contents inside. They come in various sizes, designs, and colors to suit different preferences and purposes.
