Recently, QPS, an ink supplier based in Lancashire, UK, said it will continue to provide free ink cartridge recycling programs for customers in the UK market.
In 2011, QPS and ink manufacturer Nazdar reached a cooperation agreement to jointly launch a cartridge recycling program to promote the recycling and utilization of ink cartridges. Subsequently, the United Kingdom fully implemented the plastic limit order, charging plastic bags, the supermarket plastic bags each 5 pence (equivalent to about 5 cents). The recycling project affected by it also incurred a fee. It is understood that although the relevant expenses incurred by the plastic limit order are all paid by QPS, the company still chooses to continue to operate this project, with a view to further promoting the concept of environmental protection and recycling.
According to foreign media reports, the recycling program implements a “end-to-end†model that reduces the pressure on old landfills on landfills. All customers who regularly order Nazdar ink cartridges are eligible to participate in this recycling program.
QPS Director Chris Bailey said: “Our ink cartridge recycling program has been in operation for five years. We are the only supplier to provide this service to our customers. More and more consumers expect supplies suppliers to provide them with environmental protection. For related services, we provide environmental recycling services and are free of charge. In addition, each customer participating in the project will receive a certificate of participation. This document is helpful for applying for ISO 14001 certificate."
According to QPS, the company has recycled nearly 3.5 tons of ink cartridges.
