In this paper, a new method for testing the hot-adhesive properties of a plastic composite film for liquid food packaging is introduced. The test method, test principle, and test equipment i-Thermotek 2400 are heat-sealed and heat-bonded. 1, meaning

Liquid foods in soft plastic packaging are often packaged by heat-sealing bags and filling processes. 2, test samples

3. Test basis

At present, the domestic standards for hot-melt performance testing of soft plastic packaging are about to be released. This test is based on the American standard ASTM F1921.

4, test equipment

In this test, the i-Thermotek 2400 heat sealing and hot-adhesive performance tester independently developed by Jinan Languang Electromechanical Technology Co., Ltd. was used as the test equipment.

4.1 Principle of the test

By setting a series of heat sealing parameters, the hot tack strength of the samples under different heat sealing parameters is tested, and the optimal heat sealing parameters of the samples are obtained. For the hot-adhesive strength test, it should be ensured that the test of the heat-sealing strength is completed when the heat-sealed portion has not been cooled. The heat-sealing process and strength test of the device are integrated, and the strength test can be performed after the heat seal is completed. During the test, the two ends of the sample are clamped on the left and right fixtures of the device, and the sample is pulled between the two heat seal heads. After heat sealing, the sample is separated under the drag of the left and right clamps, and the heat seal is separated. The generated force value is detected by a force value sensor disposed on the right jig to obtain a hot tack strength value of the sample.

4.2 Scope of application

(1) This equipment is suitable for testing the heat-sealing properties, hot-adhesive properties and heat-sealing strength of various plastic film, paper-plastic composite film, aluminized film, aluminum foil, aluminum foil composite film and other film materials.

4.3 Equipment parameters

The sealing range of heat sealing performance and hot tack performance is room temperature ~250 °C, temperature control resolution is ±0.1 °C, temperature control accuracy of heat sealing performance is ±2 °C, temperature control accuracy of hot viscosity performance is ±1 °C The control range of heat sealing pressure is 0.05MPa ~ 0.7MPa; the heat sealing time setting range is ≤99.9s; the load range of strength test is 0 ~ 50N, the precision is grade 1, the resolution is 0.1N; heat sealing strength The test test speed is 200mm/min, 250mm/min, 300mm/min; the upper and lower heat seal heads can be independently controlled; the manual and pedal test start mode and anti-scald design ensure the user's convenience and safety.

5, the test process

(1) Cut a sample with a width of 15 mm and a length of at least 25 mm along the longitudinal direction of the sample to be tested.

(2) Set the heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure, heat sealing time, and select hot tack properties and test method options.

(3) After the set heat sealing temperature is reached, clamp the sample on the left and right fixtures of the device, pull the handle, place the sample between the two heat seals, step on the foot switch, and the sample is heat sealed. , while releasing the handle.

(4) After the set heat sealing time is reached, the heat sealing is completed. According to the selected test method, the left and right fixtures are automatically dragged to separate the samples to test the hot tack strength.

(5) The device automatically displays the test results.

6, test results

In this test, method B was selected. A total of 15 samples were cut, the heat sealing pressure was 0.2 MPa and the heat sealing time was 1 s. Five different temperatures of 105 ° C, 110 ° C, 115 ° C, 120 ° C, and 125 ° C were set, each. The hot tack strength of the three samples was tested at temperature. The tested sample had a hot tack strength of 0.16 N/15 mm at 105 ° C, a hot tack strength of 1.51 N/15 mm at 110 ° C, a hot tack strength of 2.58 N/15 mm at 115 ° C, and a hot tack strength at 120 ° C. It is 1.38N/15mm. The hot-adhesive strength at 125 °C is 0.79N/15mm, and the sample has shrinkage at 120 °C, so the heat-sealing temperature of the sample should be controlled between 115 °C and 120 °C to ensure a good appearance and high packaging. Reasonable heat sealing temperature, heat sealing pressure, heat sealing time and other parameters are necessary to ensure the high thermal adhesive strength of soft plastic packaging.
